As a former judge, and now mediator, Judge Gossett offers mediation services to accommodate your schedule. He offers mediation by Zoom, in person, or a combination. He offers two (2) hour sessions, half-day or full day depending on your needs and the complexity of the case.

Judge Gossett offers his assistance as local counsel. He is a lifelong resident of Rusk County. As a judge for twenty-eight (28) years he has presided over hundreds of cases and appeared before thousands of Rusk County citizens while selecting juries. Judge Gossett offers his experience as an attorney and years on the bench to assist counsel in all types of civil litigation.

why we're different
J. Clay Gossett was licensed to practice law in 1985. He returned to East Texas and began practicing law in his hometown of Henderson, Texas. He was elected District Judge of the Fourth Judicial District Court in Rusk County in 1996 and served twenty-eight (28) years without ever having an opponent after his initial election. While Judge, he tried all types of civil matters as well as felony cases. Judge Gossett retired in 2024 to begin a practice of mediation and offer his expertise of presiding over hundreds of cases and appearing before thousands of jurors to assist attorneys as local counsel and mediator.
